The Print Center 100

The Print Center 100

In 2015 The Print Center marked its 100th Anniversary! Our Centennial Celebration – called The Print Center 100 – was held citywide September – December 2015. Comprised of 100 wide-ranging components, The Print Center 100 included exhibitions in our 1614 Latimer Street galleries and at partnering institutions throughout Philadelphia, public art events, new commissions, lectures, Centennial publications, a Gala and a Street Party, and this new website including an historical timeline and oral histories.

The Print Center 100 honored the organization’s accomplishments over the last 100 years and its long-standing relationships with fellow leading arts and culture organizations throughout the city – with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Fabric Workshop & Museum, the Free Library of Philadelphia and the University of the Arts, among many others. The celebration explored the unique attributes of print – its immediacy and accessibility – that make it a critically important visual medium.
